It's going to be a short week, as we have convention for all staff on February 12 and 13. There is much information in this message today - many upcoming events including Council, Grad Photos, and Transition to Adulthood Resource Fair.

Christine Meikle School is so appreciative to have a committed Council and Association. We are always looking for new members.  Specifically, we are looking for someone to be our Casino Coordinator. We have an upcoming fundraising casino at the end of June, and the organization has already begun!  Casino fund-raising events occur every 18-24 months. The previous casino fundraising events raised $70,000+ for the school!   

The Casino Coordinator is busiest during a casino year. The role includes: 

  • Obtaining all appropriate licensing requirements from the AGLC and submitting the Request for Casino License, and other materials, as appropriate 
  • Helping to recruit and schedule volunteers for the next Casino event 
  • Completing final paperwork/reports after a Casino event, and submitting to the AGLC within the set time-frame  

reminder | Purdy's Chocolates

Our School Council is doing a Purdy's Fundraiser just in time for Easter. Pick up dates will be on March 19 and 20th or we can send products home in backpacks if requested.  

The Purdy's fundraiser is running until March 5. Please share with your friends and family so we can raise a strong sum for the school! Our fundraiser funds help support Grade 12 graduations, other community events held at school, and purchasing items for students.  Follow the Purdy's chocolate order link to place orders! The school has some pamphlets if you prefer a physical catalog, please ask your teacher if you would like one. And linked here is a digital copy of the Purdy's Chocolate Catalogue.

invite | Grad Photos – February 17

We have a tradition at Christine Meikle that families and guardians are welcome to come to the school and have professional photos taken with their student.  Your student will have the opportunity to have individual grad photos taken, as well as family grad photos. 

If you would like to participate in this, please inform your student's teacher.  You may do this via email, or agenda.  Please share the time of day that will work for you on Feb 17, and we will do our best to accommodate. 

CMS provides gowns and all the other good stuff - often students dress up in special clothes on this day.
