Inform | Goodbyes and New Beginnings

As we close out the school year, we are saying goodbye to many teachers and staff. While we are excited for what lies ahead for them, we will truly feel their absence at Christine Meikle. Their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our students have made a lasting impact.

In case you missed the last message, we want to recognize and celebrate a few key departures:

  • Erin Tourigny, our Acting Assistant Principal, will be returning to her full-time role with Inclusive Education.
  • Sarah Myson is taking a well-deserved one-year leave.
  • Ed Fredenburg and Raegan Delisle will be joining the system as Learning Coaches, working alongside Erin to support inclusive learning across the district.
  • Darko Pibrovec is returning to his wellness business to continue supporting others through his passion for health and healing.
  • Liz Tran will be stepping into a new leadership role as Learning Leader at Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School.
  • Melissa Corscadden-Plett will be teaching the littles at West Dalhousie School.

I am also deeply grateful to the many support staff whose contracts conclude in June. While we are not naming everyone individually, please know how much your work is noticed, and appreciated. Your care, patience, and support have kept students at the heart of everything—and we are hopeful that we’ll see many of you return in the fall.

At the same time, we are pleased to welcome new and returning teachers to Christine Meikle School for the 2025–2026 school year:

  • Wei He, who has been an active and valued member of our community throughout this school year.
  • Brooklyn Udell, returning to us after a brief time at another school—we’re so glad to have her back.
  • Sarah Johnson, recently confirmed in her new teaching position, and brings deep care and commitment.
  • Peter Kwasny, who is new to the CBE and excited to be joining the Meikle team—welcome.

I am still in the process of hiring teachers, so look for upcoming messages about new staff!
