Upcoming Events:
Dear Families, This past week was a truly special time in our school community. We celebrated our graduation ceremony for our students, and it was a heartfelt and joyous occasion. The event was beautifully decorated thanks to the hard work and creativity of our dedicated staff, who spent hours preparing the space with love and care. Their efforts created a warm and inclusive atmosphere that made the ceremony so special! It was lovely to see so many families come together to support and celebrate our students’ accomplishments. Visiting | Welcome Lily! I am also excited to share that my dog, Lily, a certified therapy dog through Companion Paws, will begin visiting with students this week. Lily is a gentle, friendly dog who has been specially trained to provide comfort and support. She has a calm, nurturing presence that I'm grateful to be able to share with our school community. If you have any concerns or questions about Lily’s visits, please don’t hesitate to contact the office. Transition meetings | new students – June 3, 4, 5 Looking ahead, we’ll soon be holding transition meetings for new students who will be joining us. If you have any insights, tips, or welcoming ideas that you believe would help new families feel supported and connected, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out to me at rcmacdonald@cbe.ab.ca. Inform | IPP meetings for returning students – June 19-20, 2025 Teachers will soon be reaching out to set up IPP (Individual Program Plan) meetings with families to review and update goals for students who will be returning in the fall. These meetings are an important part of our year-end planning, ensuring that each student’s strengths, needs, and progress are thoughtfully considered as we prepare for a successful start to the new school year. Your input is an essential part of this process, and we truly value your insights. Request | Support for Staff Appreciation Lunch Dear Parents, As the end of the school year approaches, we would like to highlight a special event: the Staff Appreciation Lunch, taking place on Friday, June 20. This is our way of expressing our gratitude to the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to make Christine Meikle School such a wonderful place for our children. Instead of collecting funds for individual end-of-year gifts, we are kindly asking for donations to help us provide a small token of appreciation for all staff members. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is truly appreciated! Donations can be sent by Tuesday, June 10 via e-transfer to: linadilov@gmail.com or send to the school in a sealed envelope labeled "Attention: Lina." If you’re available and would like to contribute in another way, we also have a sign-up page where you can volunteer or send items: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0C4BAEAB23A4FA7-57007409-staff Thank you in advance for your support and for helping us recognize the incredible work of all the staff at Christine Meikle School! Warm regards, Parents’ Representative Thank you, families, for all that you do. May you have a super Meikle week! Rachel MacDonald, Principal |
