Dear Christine Meikle families and caretakers,

Halloween is just around the corner, and we are excited to celebrate with a fun -filled morning for our students on Friday, October 30!

We are planning a day of Halloween fun, including:

  • Costumes! Students are welcome to dress up in their favourite Halloween costumes. It is completely optional.
  • Trick-or-Treating! Classrooms will set up Halloween stations where students can visit, socialize, communicate, and collect treats and goodies.
  • Halloween Dance! We'll have Halloween music and dancing in the gym, giving students an opportunity to celebrate and connect with friends from other classrooms and wings.
  • Costume Fun! We're hoping to have a fun costume contest to add to the excitement!
  • Treats and Allergies: All treats and goodies will be selected with students' allergies and dietary restrictions in mind to help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.
  • Participation: If you would prefer that your child not participate in the Halloween celebrations, please let your child's teacher know. We will ensure that an alternative activity is available.

Our goal is to create a fun day where students can enjoy time with their peers. Happy Halloween from CMS staff! 🎃

request | Please Keep Ill Children at Home

We have noticed an uptick in ill children at school. This becomes a huge issue, as we do not have children who can sustain illness well. Please, please keep them at home should they seem unwell. Also, we are significantly short-staffed this year; every employee who is out sick is not easily covered for. Your community and our school thanks you!

update | Wheelchairs in Need of their Annual Maintenance

Fall has arrived, and as you plan your own tire changes, consider planning a wheelchair service visit for your child's wheelchair with their vendor. Having a regular (annual) service visits can prevent safety concerns and keep the wheelchair working smoothly so there is less strain on caregivers, and can address parts before they break or come apart which can make it unsafe to use, or to ride the bus.

In addition to the annual service visit, check your child's chair regularly at home to tighten bolts, ensure clips and buckles are intact, fill tires if they are air-filled, check brakes are holding firmly, and the pedal is functioning well, and check brake pads have grip, and to monitor general wear and tear.

update | School Pizza Night - CMS15

Please support our fundraiser by sharing this with your company, family and friends. We can earn Christine Meikle a nice fund for graduation and other things that our council pays for!
